Dr. Michael Moody
Dr. Michael Moody was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He initially attended the University of Utah, but completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a B.S. in Biology. He was then accepted into the UNLV School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). During this time, he developed a sincere passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery and knew that this would be his profession.
Following dental school, he was accepted to the prestigious University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency. While in residency he learned directly under the world-renowned Dr. Robert Marx and was able to learn the most current and advanced techniques in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also served as the Chief Resident and covered four hospitals including Jackson Memorial Hospital (a level I trauma center) and the VA Medical Center. He received extensive training in wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, bone grafting (including the use of stem cells and tissue engineering), pre-prosthetic surgery, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia, trauma, facial reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, oral and facial pathology, and facial cosmetics.
He is board certified with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is licensed in Nevada to practice his specialty. He is a member of local, regional and national societies and attends continuing education meetings regularly for his specialty.
Dr. Moody and his family are excited to return to Las Vegas to again make Las Vegas their home. He looks forward to offering the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and developing long lasting relationships with both patients and fellow professionals.
When he is not working, Dr. Moody enjoys spending time with his wife and son, attending sporting events, sampling Las Vegas restaurants, exercising, and catching up with friends.
