Meet Jeff Sorensen, MD
Dr. Sorensen is board-certified and received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine.
About Dr. Sorensen
Raised in Orem, Utah, Dr. Sorensen graduated high school and quickly learned he had a passion for helping people improve their health. He is ecstatic about each day that he gets to provide ENT (ear, nose, and throat) healthcare to those he cares about from the moment he meets them.
Dr. Sorensen sees his patients as people with lives that their condition is impacting, and he strives to improve their lives through safe and comfortable treatments. He enjoys explaining a patient’s diagnosis and the variety of pros and cons of different treatment options with his patients. Having access to the latest equipment at Canyon Oral & Facial Surgery allows him to provide personalized treatment and the finest care.
Education & Residency
Dr. Sorensen completed his undergraduate education from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the Uniformed Services University F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine. After medical school he completed a 1-year internship in General Surgery at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, after which he served as a General Medical Officer in the Air Force at Moody AFB, GA practicing family medicine. He then completed a residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, where he was Chief Resident and provided service to 3 hospitals including the University of Missouri Hospital (level I trauma center), Children’s Hospital, and the Harry S. Truman VA Medical Center. During his training in Columbia, he was exposed to a wide variety of procedures to include ear tubes, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy, sinus surgery, surgical repair of the eardrum and mastoid cavity, cochlear implantation, and ear, nose, throat, and facial benign or malignant pathologies, as well as facial trauma and reconstruction.
Certifications
Dr. Sorensen is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and is licensed to practice medicine in Nevada as a specialist in Otolaryngology (ENT). Dr. Sorensen regularly attends continuing education meetings for his specialty to stay up to date on the latest research.
Hobbies & Interests
When Dr. Sorensen is not helping his patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys, and two girls. He is an active member in the community and enjoys jogging, hiking, biking, basketball, reading, and learning new skills.
