About Dr. Moody
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Moody comes to Canyon Oral & Facial Surgery as a passionate and experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon. A natural people person with a sense for detail and a high standard for excellence, Dr. Moody takes the time to get to know his patients and receives the greatest joy from a successful treatment.
Along with Dr. Falk, Dr. Moody makes sure that Canyon Oral & Facial Surgery is equipped with the latest digital technology and surgical equipment. At Canyon Oral & Facial Surgery, patients can expect personalized treatment and the finest care.
Education & Residency
After a brief attendance at the University of Utah, Dr. Moody completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas prior to earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. During his time here, he developed a sincere passion for oral surgery and knew that this would be the right profession for him.
Dr. Moody was then accepted to the prestigious University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, where he learned under the world-renowned Dr. Robert Marx and later served as Chief Resident, covering 4 hospitals, including Jackson Memorial Hospital (a level I trauma center) and the VA Medical Center. He received extensive training in wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, bone grafting (including the use of stem cells and tissue engineering), pre-prosthetic surgery, intravenous (IV) sedation and general anesthesia, trauma, facial reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, oral and facial pathology, and facial cosmetics.
Certifications
Dr. Moody is board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and is licensed to practice his specialty in the state of Nevada. He is a member of local, regional, and national societies and regularly attends continuing education meetings for his specialties. Dr. Moody is an assistant professor at the UNLV School of Medicine, Department of Plastic Surgery and at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, you can find Dr. Moody enjoying many different activities. He loves spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors, as well as going to the gym, experiencing the many restaurants Las Vegas has to offer, and catching up with friends.
